Give your kids a blockbuster summer - all at a beginner's level - with Minnesota State Parks and Trails I Can! programs. An I Can Camp! overnight program gets you out camping with the kids. The kids will discover the kind of amazing views only seen from a canoe during an I Can Paddle! program. And I Can Climb! takes the family up a cliff with a real rock-climbing experience. No reservations are required for the Archery in the Parks and I Can Fish! programs - learn more about those at www.mndnr.gov/ican .

I Can Camp!

An I Can Camp! overnight program is your chance to introduce your kids to the fun of camping. Our I Can Camp! crew will be on hand day and night to answer all of your “How do I do it?” questions. They’ll walk you through setting up a campsite, starting a campfire and preparing delicious, yet simple, meals. Plus, try activities that will entertain the whole family. Tent, air mattress, cook stove and other gear are provided. Cost is $50 per family/group (up to six people per tent).


I Can Camp! Two-night

An I Can Camp! overnight program is your chance to introduce your kids to the fun of camping. Our I Can Camp! crew will be on hand day and night to answer all of your “How do I do it?” questions. They’ll walk you through setting up a campsite, starting a campfire and preparing delicious, yet simple, meals. Plus, try activities that will entertain the whole family. Tent, air mattress, cook stove and other gear are provided. Cost is $75 per family/group (up to six people per tent).


I Can Climb!

A perfect first-time rock climbing experience! These programs are designed for beginning climbers; no experience is necessary. Climbers under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $10 per climber. For ages 5 and older.


I Can Climb! On the North Shore

If you or the kids are looking for a little more adrenaline, head to stunning Tettegouche State Park. Climbers are lowered from the top of the cliff to just above Lake Superior and then climb back up. No experience is necessary. Climbers under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $10 per climber. For ages 10 and older


I Can Mountain Bike!

This entry-level mountain biking program will focus on developing skills necessary for mountain biking in Minnesota State Parks and beyond. The program will take place in a controlled setting with experienced instructors and equipment will be provided - including bikes and helmets. We'll start by developing basic skills on a closed course before heading out on the trails for a group ride. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $25 per person. For ages 10 and older.


I Can Paddle! Canoeing on the Lake

You’ll learn canoeing skills from experienced guides while exploring some of Minnesota’s most stunning lakes. These programs teach the basics of canoeing on lakes, from planning a safe trip to launching the canoe to paddling efficiently. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $15 per canoe (up to three people per canoe; two paddling and one sitting in the middle). For ages 5 and older.


I Can Paddle! Canoeing on the River

Take your canoeing experience to the next level! Paddle along miles of the most scenic rivers in Minnesota. On the water we’ll practice a variety of paddling techniques and maneuvers. You’ll also learn how to plan a river trip for your entire family. Each program is four to five hours. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $25 per canoe. For ages 8 and older.


I Can Paddle! Kayaking on the Lake

You’ll learn kayaking skills from experienced guides while exploring some of Minnesota’s most stunning lakes. These programs teach the basics of canoeing on lakes, from planning a safe trip to launching the canoe to paddling efficiently. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $15 per kayak (one person per kayak). For ages 8 and older.


I Can Paddle! Kayaking on the River

Take your kayaking experience to the next level! Paddle along miles of the most scenic rivers in Minnesota. On the water we’ll practice a variety of paddling techniques and maneuvers. You’ll also learn how to plan a river trip for your entire family. Each program is four to five hours (11:00 am to 4:00 pm). Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $25 per kayak (one person per kayak). Advance registration required. For ages 12 and up


I Can Paddle! Sea Kayaking

So you’ve paddled lakes and you’ve paddled rivers, but have you paddled a GREAT Lake? Try sea kayaking on the Lake Superior State Water Trail. You’ll learn all the basics of sea kayaking while gliding past towering cliffs and the Split Rock Lighthouse. No experience is necessary and all equipment is provided. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $35 per person. Advance registration is required. For ages 12 and older.


I Can Paddle! Stand-up Paddleboarding

Stand-up paddleboarding, a combination of surfing and paddling, is a great way to play on the water. From a standing position, you’ll experience unforgettable views of both underwater life and beautiful vistas. No experience is necessary. You’ll learn everything you need to know to feel at ease on the water, from getting on and off your board to proper paddling techniques. For ages 10 and older. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Cost is $10 per person.
